Hurricane Ike Education Relief Project ExxonMobil funded, the CSTEM Exploration Camp
The STEM Enrichment Activities provided fun, hands-on, engaging learning experiences for students. The students focused on the following topics:
- Differentiating sources of renewable and non-renewable energy by building models of energy technologies.
- Identifying what energy is and where energy comes from by planning and implementing investigative procedures with solar cars, fuel cell cars, and wind turbines.
- Formulating testable hypothesis and collected data from their experiments to present the advantages and disadvantages of different renewable energy sources.
- Computer programming using NXT G with Lego robots, working cooperatively as a team, classification of Lego’s, problem-solving, measurement using sensor technology, underline process using mathematical tools and patterns and relationships.
- Voice projections, communications, and improvisation for theatre arts.
