Our Founder

Meet Dr. Reagan Flowers

If you are looking for a cause-driven social changer, pioneer, innovator, and entrepreneur, then look no further than Dr. Reagan Flowers. She is redefining traditional education and changing the way people see, think, and experience STEM. She is the founder of C-STEM Teacher and Student Support Services, Inc. and serves as the Chief Operations Officer for Education Consulting Services, LLC.

Dr. Flowers’ high-level STEM engagement strategies are life changing. She attributes her success to the caring, loving, and challenging teachers she had growing-up. These educators expected greatness and were the village that invested in her development.

Dr. Flowers earned degrees from prestigious institutions such as the University of Oxford, Union Institute and University, Prairie View A&M University, and Texas Southern University. She has the unwavering support of her loving husband and finds delight in watching others enjoy a delicious meal she has prepared, listening to great music, and traveling the world.

Our Story

In the early 2000s, when founder Dr. Reagan Flowers was working as an educator at Jack Yates High School in Houston, she won a grant from NASA to implement STEM learning in her classroom. Using the engineering principles she learned over the years, Dr. Flowers developed a robotics project that taught students STEM in a fun and collaborative way.

Her students went on to build an extraordinary robot and showcased it at a local robotics competition. While this robot may not have been the prettiest or most advanced on the competition field, building it and competing against students with more resources and exposure to STEM sparked their competitive curiosity and desire to achieve. Her students were inspired and wanted to go deeper into STEM. It was this single opportunity that put Jack Yates High School on the path to create their first official robotics team and put the concept of C-STEM Student and Teacher Support Services in motion.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to support teachers in delivering project-based learning that ignites curiosity and teaches Communications + STEM (C-STEM) skills to students historically underrepresented in STEM fields.

We are working to create a world where minority and economically disadvantage students have high quality communication and STEM experiences that catapult them into transformative spaces, creating opportunities for economic and social mobility.

Who We Serve

Our aim is to make STEM accessible to all students historically underrepresented in STEM fields, largely Black, Hispanic, and females of all ethnicities. We are encouraged everyday by the investments that committed educators and caring donors like you are making in C-STEM to ensure teachers and students alike can boldly engage in the world of STEM.

Our Goals

We believe STEM learning goes well beyond the classroom. We aim to leverage community resources to make STEM real for our students and equip them with the skills to solve everyday challenges in their communities and beyond.

Inspire students to become innovators, technologically proficient problem-solvers, and critical thinkers

Support teachers in delivering high quality, relevant STEM project-based learning content for students in grades PreK-12

Create opportunities for students to apply 21st century STEM and literacy skills in competitive environments

Connect classrooms to communities by leveraging expertise and touchpoints with professionals in the private and public sectors

Why C-STEM

Teachers, parents, and students love C-STEM for so many reasons. Here are just a few:

  • Implement fun, rigorous, relevant, project-based, and problem-based curriculum.

  • Get dedicated professional support to implement modules with your students.

  • Connect to year-round STEM opportunities for students and teachers.

  • Showcase and expand student and teacher STEM knowledge at the National C-STEM Challenge Day.

  • Gain exposure to STEM careers and professionals.

  • Receive updates on current trends in STEM.

Awards & Recognition

C-STEM has accomplished so much over the years and we are proud to have these endorsements.
