Stimulating Education with the CARES Act
Most of us are well informed about the economic impact payments associated with the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and. Economic Security Act), and many have already received their payments. The act, which is designed to provide financial relief for American citizens, companies and institutions, also includes a large allocation for education.

This Month's Highlights
Share Your Input
We are conducting a national study. With the input of STEM industry partners, C-STEM has created a survey to capture perspective and opinions of STEM education technology resources, brands, and tools. Please respond to the survey yourself. We also encourage you to share the survey widely and broadly.
C-STEM is conducting the study to provide industry professionals with an expanded perspective on STEM education needs to advocate for resources and allocate those resources to meet the needs.
COVID-19 Education Resources

Lee Teaches Chemistry with Social Media Lab
Washington, D.C. teacher Jonte Lee had a bad experience learning chemistry in high school, so when he learned he’d be teaching chemistry he wanted to create something better for his students. When COVID-19 forced schools into distance learning, he turned his kitchen into a lab. Now his students are more engaged than ever.
“There is no better applicable way of teaching chemistry than doing it in the kitchen,” he said. “Teachers must meet students where they are, and my students are on Instagram. The responses were amazing. My students were engaged and still received the gold standard of education.”
Lee said students who had not usually been vocal began typing in their observations, questions, and answers. They became so engaged, they told their friends at other schools. Word spread, and Lee was even featured in the media. “Instagram made my dream come true: becoming a community teacher,” he said.
